When this is not a side effect to manage at home
The short list of things that need urgent care rather than a message.
1 min read
Almost everything on these medications is manageable and settles. A small number of things are not, and they are worth knowing by name so you are not deciding in the moment whether it counts.
Seek urgent in-person care for
- Severe or persistent abdominal pain, particularly pain that goes through to your back.
- Vomiting you cannot stop, or being unable to keep fluids down for more than a day.
- Signs of an allergic reaction — swelling of the face, lips or throat, or difficulty breathing.
- A lump or swelling in your neck, hoarseness, or trouble swallowing.
This service is not for emergencies
The care team reads messages every day, not every minute. For anything on the list above, go to urgent or emergency care and tell us afterwards.
